Next Community Watch Meeting Nov. 10 Includes Emergency Preparedness

Please join your neighbors for the next in a series of community watch meetings at the Gateway Apartments and Townhomes from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Holding Company on the third floor (plaza level) of 2 Embarcadero Center.

It will include information on personal emergency preparedness and a community watch emergency preparedness plan. Andrea Jorgenson, planner/San Francisco Fire Department/Department of Emergency Management Disaster Corps volunteer coordinator, will be the featured speaker.

The meeting will be facilitated by Irina Chatsova, program director for San Francisco SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone), and Sue Rokaw, Gateway resident and community watch liaison.

The mission of SAFE is to engage, educate, and empower San Franciscans to build safer neighborhoods through crime prevention education and public safety services that result in stronger, more vibrant, and resilient communities. It does not include formal patrols; just common sense and safety awareness.

The Golden Gateway Tenants Association has spearheaded the effort to form a community watch in order to bring residents together to build a sense of community and to work on collective safety issues.

All Gateway residents are welcome.
