Neighborhood Happenings – February 2020

  • Seawall Project: In November 2018 SF voters passed a general obligation bond in the amount of $425,000,000 to begin restoring or replacing three miles of our Embarcadero Seawall, from Fisherman’s Wharf to Mission Creek.  Work is in the planning stages.  First repairs are expected to be complete by 2026.  The Port will host 45-minute seawall walking tours.  For detailed information, check the Port website at, then click on “seawall”, then click on “Embarcadero Resilience”.
  • 88 Broadway Family Building/735 Davis St Senior Building: Cahill  Construction continues at 88 Broadway (6 stories, 130 units for families), and 735 Davis (4 stories, 52 units for seniors) with expected completion in Q1 of 2021 and Q4 of 2020 respectively.  Normal work hours are 7 am to 5 pm, Monday – Friday.  Address questions or concerns to  For Leasing information: Families (88 Broadway) 415-995-4964; Seniors (735 Davis) 415-267-1825.
  • What to Expect During Construction in Your Neighborhood: Building construction can occur during the hours of 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week, including holidays.   • Filming in San Francisco:  Adobe Pictures will be filming a feature film ‘Project Ice Cream’ in the Financial District, February 5th – March 1st, 2020.  Reportedly part of the Matrix series,  filming will include action scenes with low-flying helicopters, drones, car chases, simulated gunfire, pyrotechnics and smoke.  The majority of the filming will be done at night or on the weekends and all activity will  conclude by midnight.  Questions and complaints can be directed to Adobe Pictures at (415) 322-3352 or the SF Film Commission at (415) 554-6241.
